Colgate-Palmolive (India) said in an exchange filing on October 24 that the company’s board of directors has declared a dividend of Rs 24 per Re 1 par value share to shareholders. The company has set the record date for this dividend of Rs 24 on Monday, November 4. The company told stock exchanges that dividend money will be transferred to shareholders’ bank accounts from November 21.
Increase in net profit and revenue in the second quarter
Releasing its financial results on Thursday, the company said its net profit in the second quarter rose 16.2 per cent to Rs 395 crore, which was Rs 340 crore in the second quarter of the last financial year. Apart from this, the company’s revenue also increased by 10.1 per cent to Rs 1,619 crore, up from Rs 1,471 crore in the second quarter of last year. However, there has been a decline in the company’s margins during this period. In the second quarter of the current financial year, the company’s margin fell 205 basis points to 30.7 per cent from 32.8 per cent last year.
Stocks trade sharply lower on Friday
Till the time of writing this report on Friday, the company’s shares were trading at Rs 3,129.05, down Rs 86.65 (2.69%) on the BSE. As per the data received from BSE, the current market capitalization of Colgate-Palmolive is Rs 84,777.92 crore.
