A case of treason has been registered against Chinmoy Das, one of the prominent faces of the ISKCON group in Bangladesh. This case was registered against Chinmay Das Brahmachari along with 19 other leaders and workers of Hindu organizations on Wednesday (October 20) afternoon in Chittagong district.
Chinmoy Das has been charged with contempt and insulting the national flag of Bangladesh during a rally in Chittagong on October 25. The Chittagong police have alleged that during the demonstration, the saffron flag of ISKCON was hoisted over the national flag of Bangladesh.
Two people have also been arrested in this case. Chinmoy Das Brahmachari is the Secretary of ISKCON Trust in Bangladesh and continually organizes rallies and demonstrations to raise his voice against atrocities against Hindus.
The Bangladesh government took action
The Bangladesh government has filed a case against Chinmay Das accusing him of treason and conspiracy. Chinmoy Das said that on the day of the rally, some people had hoisted the saffron flag over the moon and star flag, while he clarified that the moon and star flag is not the national flag of Bangladesh.
