Two brothers who murdered their parents will be released from prison! Why is there a fight over punishment 35 years after the murder? – The Menéndez brothers, the Netflix series Monsters imprisoned for life for murdering their parents, can obtain parole ntc

Two brothers convicted of murdering their wealthy parents in Beverly Hills, United States, in 1989, have been in prison for 35 years. These brothers, who are serving life sentences, have not received a single day of parole in these years. But after the series released on Netflix this month, this issue has come to light again.

The Netflix series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story is actually about these two American brothers, Lyle and Erik Menendez, showing the circumstances in which the two brothers murdered their parents. However, even after years of being punished, both do not admit their crime. But after this series, there is now a demand for the release of both. Given this situation, prosecutors have appealed to the court to reconsider the sentence of both brothers.

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said he will recommend reducing both brothers’ sentences to 50 years because they were under 26 at the time of the crime. In such a situation, it will help them to get parole immediately. The judge will have to decide this and it will also be necessary to obtain the consent of the State Parole Board. A petition has been filed in this regard and can be heard next month.

Let us tell you that the Menendez brothers were sentenced to life in prison without parole in 1996. At the time of the crime, Lyle was 21 years old while Eric was 18 years old. They both admitted that they had brutally murdered their father and mother. In fact, he was afraid that his parents would kill him because his father used to exploit both brothers.
