After the formation of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Waqf Amendment Bill, the round of meetings continues. However, in these meetings there is less discussion and more fights between parties and opposition. Where in the last meeting there was a dispute between Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee and BJP MP Abhijit Gangopadhyay. During this, MP Banerjee allegedly threw the glass. For which he was expelled from the committee. At the meeting held on Monday, members of the opposition parties again left the meeting.
Members of opposition parties raised objections
In fact, a CPM meeting was called on Monday under the chairmanship of BJP MP Jagdambika Pal in connection with the Waqf Amendment Bill. In which some members of the opposition parties decided to withdraw in the middle of the meeting. During this, opposition party members raised objections to the Delhi Waqf Board Administrator’s report.
The strike members stated
Members who walked out include Sanjay Singh of the Aam Aadmi Party, Naseer Hussain and Mohammad Javed of the Congress, along with Mohammad Abdullah of the DMK. It claims that MCD commissioner and administrator of Delhi Waqf Board Ashwini Kumar made the changes without the approval of Delhi CM Atishi and without the preliminary report of the Waqf Board.
That is why the meeting was called.
Chairman Joint Committee of Parliament Jagdambika Pal had called representatives of Uttarakhand Waqf Board, Haryana Waqf Board, Punjab Waqf Board and Delhi Waqf Board to record oral evidence on the Amendment Bill Waqf 2024.
