In the Gyanvapi case, the Varanasi court on Friday rejected the plea of the Hindu side, which had demanded an ASI study of the entire complex. Hindu Party Vijay Shankar Rastogi had argued in its petition that under the main dome of the mosque lies a huge 30-metre-high Shivalinga and Argha of Lord Adi Visheshwar, which should be studied archaeologically with the help of penetrating radar. He had also demanded that a survey be conducted in Wajukhana, which had not been done in the previous ASI survey. Additionally, the remaining basements should also be inspected.
