maharashtra assembly elections

Mumbai: Each alliance has principles and has a religion. When it comes to politics, its importance increases even more. In politics, when various parties form an alliance with each other on the basis of coordination of ideas, then it is the duty of each political party to follow the dharma of the alliance. But the Maharashtra Assembly elections are seeing a different game. The parties participating in the alliance present candidates against each other and describe it as a friendly competition.

There is a direct contest between two alliances in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. On one side is the BJP-led Mahayuti and Shinde’s Shiv Sena, while on the other side is the Congress-led Mahavikas Aghadi and Uddhav’s Shiv Sena. Mahayuti includes major parties like BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), NCP (Ajit Pawar), while Mahavikas Aghadi includes political parties like Congress, Shiv Sena (UPT) and Sharad Pawar’s NCP. In these assembly elections, the parties included in the Mahayuti are also facing each other in the electoral field in the name of a friendly conflict for some seats. The same scene is also seen in Mahavikas Aghadi. Political parties included in Mahavikas Aghadi are having a friendly contest for 6 seats. There is a friendly competition for five seats in Mahayuti.

One alliance, many candidates

The date for filing nominations for the Maharashtra Assembly elections has ended. But the rebellious tone is clearly visible in both the Mahayuti parties and Mahavikas Aghadi. Therefore, the coming days may be full of challenges for both alliances. The leaders of both alliances may have to work hard to convince the rebels. But the most interesting thing is that within the alliance itself a friendly competition is taking place. Only the Mahayuti alliance candidates are facing off in the Mankhurd-Shivajinagar, Morshi, Sindkhed Raja, Ashti and Devlali assembly seats.

How did the tension between Mahayuti and MVA increase?

In some places, due to friendly conflicts, in others, the challenge for both alliances has increased due to the entry of rebel candidates into the electoral field. Talking about Mahayuti, Suresh Patil is contesting from the Shivaji Mankhurd assembly seat as a Shiv Sena candidate, while Ajit Pawar’s NCP has given ticket to Nawab Malik. The BJP has given a ticket to Umesh Yawalkar for the Morshi Assembly seat, while Ajit Pawar’s NCP has fielded Devendra Bhuyar. The BJP has fielded Sanjay Upadhyay from Borivali, while BJP rebel candidate Gopal Shetty is contesting as a rebel candidate. In Naigaon, Suhas Kande is contesting as a Shiv Sena candidate, while NCP’s Sameer Bhujbal is contesting as an independent.

Similar situation to Mahayuti in MVA too

Talking about Mahavikas Aghadi, Samajwadi Party’s Abu Azmi is contesting from the Shivaji-Makhurd seat, while Shiv Sena-UBT’s Rajendra Waghmare is also contesting. Vishal Barwate is the Shiv Sena’s UBT candidate from the Ramtek seat, while Congress rebel Rajendra Mulak is contesting against him. Pawan Jaiswal is the Shiv Sena UBT candidate for the Digras assembly seat. Congress’s Manik Rao Thackeray challenges him. Shiv Sena’s Uddhav faction has given ticket to Ranjit Patil in the Parand seat, while Rahul Mote of Sharad Pawar’s NCP is challenging him.

Outlook unclear on 15 assembly seats

Let us tell you that even after the deadline for filing nominations ends, the picture is not clear in about 15 seats in Maharashtra. Mahayuti has not announced the names of candidates for four seats. While Mahavikas Aghadi is yet to announce candidates for 11 assembly seats. The BJP has fielded 152 candidates, Ajit Pawar’s NCP faction has fielded 52 candidates and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena has fielded 80 candidates. In the MVA, Congress has fielded 103 candidates, Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray faction and Sharad Pawar faction have 87 candidates each.

Effort to face internal struggles!

The friendly contests between the two poles of the alliance in Maharashtra politics are giving different signals. These circumstances are an indication that the role of friendly competition has been created within the alliance to address its internal conflicts. At the same time, both alliances are also facing the rebel crisis. It is clear from this that the path of both alliances can be quite challenging in the coming days.
