Before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, two matches would be played between India A and Australia A. Their first match started on Diwali i.e. 31st October. The start of the Indian team was very bad. No Indian batsman could withstand Australia’s deadly bowling. A fast bowler, Brendan Doggett. He bowled 11 overs in which he lost 6 batsmen giving only 15 runs. During this period, Doggett released 6 maidens. This is the best performance of his career. The Indian batsmen succumbed to Doggett’s dangerous delivery, as a result of which the entire team collapsed for just 107 runs.
Doggett hunted them
Australia A captain Nathan McSweene won the toss and asked India A to bat. India did not get off to a good start and the team lost two wickets for 17 runs. However, after this, Sai Sudarshan and Devdutt Padikkal formed a small 15-run partnership. Captain McSweeney then changed the bowling and brought in Brendan Doggett. Doggett dismissed Sai Sudarshan in his first over. After this there was a flurry of wickets. The Indian batsmen seemed helpless against this right-handed bowler. Doggett broke one after another. After Sai Sudarshan, he took the wickets of Padikkal, Ishan Kishan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Manav Suthar and Prasidh Krishna.

While playing for Queensland, he took a total of 5 wickets in the first match against Victoria. In the last 7 years, Doggett has played 37 first-class matches, in which he has taken 127 wickets at an average of 29.60. Doggett made his List A debut in 2016 and T20 in 2017. He has taken 21 wickets in 14 List A matches. He has 40 wickets to his name in 42 T20 matches. He has played for Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League.
