36 dead in Almora accident
Mountain valleys, trees and rivers… 42 passengers were traveling by bus in Almora, Uttarakhand, taking in these views. But just 30 minutes into the trip, suddenly there was a jolt in the bus. The driver lost control of the vehicle and the bus fell into a 200-meter ditch. 36 passengers died in this accident. At the same time, three seriously injured passengers were airlifted.
Kinath is a place in Almora. From here the bus headed to Ramnagar with passengers. The distance from Kinath to Ramnagar is approximately 54 km. But due to the mountainous route, bus drivers complete the trip in about two hours. The bus arrived in Marchula with 42 passengers from Kinath. Meanwhile, the passengers inside the bus suffered a shock and the bus lost control and fell into the ditch.

The rescue team reached the spot and rescued the injured. However, the bus is still lying in the ditch. An official said they will pull the bus out of the ditch.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus crashed into several ditches. The bus overturned after the accident. The bus tires had overheated. The bus was resting on the roof. Where this accident occurred, a small river also passes nearby. There was still knee-deep water in the river. Pedestrians came to the place by the river.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus was full of passengers. But after the accident only the voices of a few people were heard. Some people were complaining. The rescue team removed the passengers from the bus, of whom 22 died at the scene and 14 in hospital.
Garhwal Motor Owners Association operates some buses for local passengers on the Kinath-Ramnagar route, one of which was this bus. Meanwhile, the bus suffered an accident at eight in the morning. This bus had 43 seats.
What did DM say about the accident?
About this accident, District Magistrate Alok Kumar Pandey said that the police and SDRF team immediately started the rescue operation. The injured were immediately admitted to the hospital. Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat and IG Nilesh Anand Bharne also reached the spot and took stock.
Expressing grief over this accident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his condolences to the families of the deceased. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has come to know about this accident. It has given instructions to suspend the application of ARTO in the respective areas of Pauri and Almora. CM Dhami has ordered to hand over Rs 4 lakh each to the family members of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh each to the injured.
