How many candidates for Chief Minister in Maharashtra?

For the first time in Dangal, Maharashtra, there are around a dozen Chief Ministerial candidates from six major parties. Among them, the maximum number of candidates for the CM post are in the Congress. There are currently at least four such faces in the Big Old Party aspiring for the Chief Minister’s post. There are two such faces in Sharad Pawar’s NCP party and two in the Bharatiya Janata Party, who are being talked about becoming Chief Minister in the future.

Apart from these 8 faces, there are 3 faces who have openly expressed their desire to become Chief Minister. Those 3 names are: Eknath Shinde, Uddhav Thackeray and Ajit Pawar. In this story, let us know about all these candidates for the post of Chief Minister in Maharashtra.

Let’s start with Eknath Shinde

The current Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, is again a candidate for the CM post. His party Shivsena (Shinde) is contesting elections in around 80 seats in Maharashtra. When Shinde rebelled in 2022, he had only 40 MLAs, but the BJP handed him the CM chair. It is said that if a similar equation is formed this time too, then Shinde can get the CM post.

Ajit Pawar has expressed his wish

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar of the Eknath Shinde government has expressed his desire to become chief minister on various public platforms. Ajit Pawar had recently said that I cannot become an MP. It is said that Ajit had rebelled against Sharad Pawar just for the CM post.

Uddhav Thackeray is continually demanding

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray is also in the race for the Chief Minister’s post. Uddhav’s party has repeatedly demanded Indian alliance parties to declare him as the face of the CM. In 2019, when the Mahavikas Aghadi government was formed with the support of Sharad Pawar and the Congress, Uddhav was appointed CM.

Currently there are 2 aspirants for CM post in BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party is currently the largest party in the Maharashtra Assembly. Devendra Fadnavis is the BJP’s deputy CM. It is said that Fadnavis may become CM if the government is formed. Recently, a poster related to Fadnavis at the BJP office had made many headlines.

If the BJP government comes and no consensus is reached on Fadnavis’ name, then it is said that Vinod Tawde may also be given the CM’s post. Former Maharashtra minister Tawde is currently the national general secretary.

2 CM candidates in Sharad’s party

Sharad Pawar aside, there are two main contenders for the post of NCP Chief Minister (Sharad). Among them, the first name is Supriya Sule and the middle name is Jayant Patil. Supriya Sule is the daughter of Sharad Pawar and working president of the NCP (Sharad). Sharad Pawar’s nephew Ajit had said in a rally that I could not become CM because I was not the son of any leader.

Jayant Patil’s claim has recently been pushed by Sharad Pawar. Pawar told a rally that I want Jayant to be prepared to take on big responsibilities.

Maximum 4 contenders in Congress

For the post of Chief Minister in the Old Grand Party Congress there are a maximum of four candidates. Among them, the names of Nana Patole, Bala Saheb Thorat, Vijay Wadettiwar and Prithviraj Chavan stand out. Prithviraj Chavan has been the former CM of Maharashtra. Legislature currently in dispute.

Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole is the favorite for the CM post. Patole is the one who is most memorizing the formula that the party that wins the most seats will be the CM. Patole has been the Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly.

Balasaheb Thorat is considered close to the high command. Recently, when the seat-sharing issue was deadlocked, the Congress had nominated Thorat at the behest of the high command.

The face of the OBC, Vijay Wadettiwar, is currently the leader of the opposition in the assembly. He is also considered a contender for the CM post.

Election of 288 seats, game of 145 numbers

Elections are being held for 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra. 145 MLAs are needed to form the government here. On one hand, BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde) and NCP (Ajit) are in the fray since Mahayuti, while on the other hand, Shiv Sena (Uddhav), NCP (Sharad) and Congress are in the fray.
