A shameful news has come from Aligarh, UP, where a 22-year-old newly married bride was sexually assaulted on a moving train. Not only this, the accused also beat the newlywed’s husband, who was traveling with them, with a belt. The newlywed has alleged that while she and her husband were traveling in a local train from Delhi to Aligarh, four youths harassed them and tried to molest them. The police gave this information on Thursday.
The passengers asked for help, but no one came forward.
In the complaint lodged at the Government Railway Police (GRP) police station in Aligarh, it was said that the incident took place on Tuesday night. In this, the victim stated that when her husband tried to protest, the defendant hit them both with belts. The female victim said she asked other passengers for help, but the other scared passengers did not come forward to help her either.

According to media reports, the woman got married just two months ago. After marriage, both husband and wife live in Delhi. The husband is engaged in selling clothes while the house is in Aligarh. The husband and wife had come to attend a family wedding.
The accused fled after threatening to shoot her husband
A GRP official said a case was registered based on the woman’s complaint and one of the accused, Jeetu, was arrested within hours of receiving the complaint. In the complaint filed with the police, the woman has stated that when she and her husband got off the train in Aligarh, her relatives had come to pick them up, but even in their presence the miscreants continued to beat her husband. The woman said that when she started screaming, a crowd gathered at the scene and the accused fled the scene after threatening to shoot her husband.
The GRP soldiers did not pay attention.
He alleged that the GRP personnel deployed in Aligarh initially did not pay heed to his request, but soon family members and some senior Samajwadi Party leaders reached the spot. Former SP city president Ajju Ishaq, who reached the spot, later told reporters that Tuesday night’s incident on the train “shows the growing anarchy in the state.” She said women are not safe even in a crowded train compartment.
GRP area officer (Etawah area) Uday Pratap Singh said that a case has been registered under relevant sections against two named and some unnamed persons. Jitu, one of the identified people, was arrested a few hours after the incident (Tuesday night), a short distance from the train station. The police officer said that the other named accused Mahesh and an unknown accused are absconding and CCTV footage is being analyzed to arrest them. (with language inputs)
