Sambal: Five people were killed and 20 policemen injured in violent incidents during the inspection of Shahi Masjid in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh. After the violence, police force of 30 police stations were deployed in Sambhal Kotwali area to control the situation. The bodies have been sent for autopsy and the injured are receiving treatment at various hospitals.
Case registered against 400 accused
Police have registered a case against 400 accused at Nakhasa police station and 21 people have been arrested so far. Police also recovered many weapons and cartridges during the raid. Following the incident, the police search operation continues, while two women have been detained for questioning.
Reinforced security, prohibition of entry of outsiders
To keep the situation under control in Sambhal, entry of outsiders has been banned till December 1. Internet service in the area was also shut down and suspicious people are being questioned. The police have also prohibited the arrival of social organizations and public representatives.
School holidays, flag march
Holidays have been declared in all schools up to class 12 in Sambhal. DIG and SP hold a flag march in the city along with the police. The area around the Royal Mosque has been completely cordoned off and houses suspected of containing weapons are being searched.
Despite this strict action by the police, the situation remains tense and the administration is making all-out efforts to maintain peace.
