Meanwhile, information recently leaked by a Chinese tipster suggests that the Chinese tech giant is is preparing to launch another phone with a larger battery. Xiaomi is reportedly planning to include a 7,000 mAh battery with 90W fast charging support in the smartphone. This upcoming smartphone is expected to have a Snapdragon chipset.
Tipster Digital Chat Station claimed on Weibo that Xiaomi is working on a phone with a 7,000 mAh battery. It is planned to run on an unannounced SM8735 chipset, which is expected to be the successor to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. The chipset could be called Snapdragon 8s Elite or Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. The alleged Xiaomi phone is said to have support for 90W fast wired charging and can arrive as a mid-range device.
Samsung has obtained a patent for a triple smartphone with a special barrier layer for greater durability. However, this won’t be the first phone to feature a 7000 mAh battery as we have seen some phones from brands like Samsung, Tecno, itel and Oukitel with even larger batteries. Still, it would be a welcome improvement compared to most mainstream Android phones. Many Chinese brands, including OnePlus, Realme and Honor, have started using silicon batteries in their phones, which offer higher energy density.

However, since there has been no official confirmation from Xiaomi about launching a phone with a 7,000 mAh battery, these details should be taken with a grain of salt. The recently launched OnePlus 13 packs a 6,000 mAh battery, while the Chinese version of the iQOO 13 packs a 6,150 mAh cell. The upcoming Realme Neo 7 is expected to have a 7000 mAh battery. The Chinese version of the Realme GT 7 Pro also packs a 6500 mAh battery.
