At least nine terrorists and eight security personnel were killed in a bloody clash during a counter-terrorism operation in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday night. He said two top commanders of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Islam were also killed in the intelligence-based operation carried out in Tirah Maidan valley of Khyber district.
Seven security personnel and six terrorists were also injured in the operation. During the operation, which lasted several hours, the soldiers remained deployed in three points of the district. Local sources said that some residents of nearby areas were also injured.
Kidnapping of 7 police officers
In addition to this, armed persons kidnapped 7 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police officers from Roza check post of Wazir sub-division of Bannu district. The armed men also took all the weapons, ammunition and supplies.
