Benares: In Ramnagar district police station area, police arrested 15 women on charges of theft. These women are accused of theft in a religious Katha organized in Domri. These women had stolen jewelry from many people during religious history, so they were arrested by the police.

Theft in the story of narrator Pradeep Mishra

According to the police, these women were arrested for stealing jewelery during the Katha of famous storyteller Pradeep Mishra. Jewelery worth around Rs 10 lakh has been recovered from these women. A case has been registered at Ramnagar police station in connection with the jewelery theft incident during Pandit Pradeep Mishra’s Katha. Only women have been arrested for this reason.

Big gang exposed

Police Commissioner Mohit Aggarwal took cognizance of the matter after receiving the complaint of jewelery theft and took action. He visited the Katha site on Thursday. Furthermore, he had given instructions to identify the accused based on security camera images. Upon investigation, the police discovered that these women were part of a gang that stole jewelry at large events.

He used to steal by entering the crowd.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ishan Soni said, “They used to come to the Katha place as devotees and mingle with the crowd.” He used to commit his crimes without anyone noticing. The stolen items recovered include two gold chains and nine mangalsutras, worth around Rs 10 lakh.

The women gave wrong names and addresses

Confirming the arrest, ACP Ishan Soni said the women had given incorrect names and addresses during interrogation. He said police were investigating the women to gather more information about the gang’s operations. “A case has been registered against the 15 women,” the ACP said. “Police are working to identify his contacts and trace his criminal activities.” (entrance-agency)
