Landslides have caused enormous devastation in eastern Uganda. 15 people have died due to landslides in six villages. 113 people are still missing. 15 people have been saved. He has been admitted to the hospital. A rescue operation is underway. The people who lost their lives are being identified.
The Uganda Red Cross has said 40 houses have been destroyed by the landslide. So far 13 bodies have been recovered. Rescue efforts continue. The death toll is feared to rise to 30. It rained heavily on Wednesday night. Following this, a landslide occurred in the hilly district of Bulambuli.
Difficulty in the rescue operation due to mud and rain
Bulambuli district is about 280 kilometers east of the capital Kampala. According to information received by the Associated Press, local officials say heavy machines will be deployed to assist in rescue efforts. But due to mud and rain on the roads, the rescue operation is facing problems. According to the ‘Daily Monitor’ report, most of the bodies recovered so far are children.

Landslide caused devastation in 50-acre area
The landslide has caused devastation on about 50 hectares of area. The Ugandan Prime Minister’s Office gave information on Wednesday about the landslide in a post on the social media platform throughout the country. During the rescue operation on the Nile River, two boats participating in the rescue operation capsized on Wednesday.
