The Uttar Pradesh government has expedited the process of constructing a state-of-the-art forensic laboratory at a cost of Rs 88 crore. This laboratory will be built on the UP State Forensic Institute land on Ranipur Road in Sarojininagar, connected to the Lucknow-Kanpur Highway. The responsibility of its construction has been handed over to the EPC cell of the Planning Department and the process of preparing the detailed project report and architectural design for the same has also been initiated. This forensic laboratory will have seven floors and will also have a basement.
The laboratory will have state-of-the-art facilities such as underground tank, gas-based fire extinguishing system, power generation equipment, electrical substation and horticultural and other facilities. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to supervise this project and has set a target of completing the construction work in 18 months. This new forensic laboratory will play an important role in achieving greater efficiency in the investigation of crimes.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered that this laboratory be built keeping the future in mind. If we talk about location, it is located at a distance of 20 kilometers from the city’s main railway station, Charbagh. In this laboratory all the modern facilities have been taken care of. With its construction, the forensic investigation of crimes that occur in the state will be easier. Currently, it is difficult to leave the state for your research.
18 month period
The deadline for the construction of this laboratory has been set at 18 months. The planning department has started construction work and detailed planning is underway, with construction expected to be completed within 18 months. In its master planning, it has taken advice from many IITs including IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee and IIT BHU.
