Chandigarh News, A person cut down a 35 feet tall, 10-year-old Neem tree in Shiva Enclave which fell in Bhabat area. A neighbor has filed a complaint with the police and administrative officials. But the complainant alleged that the tree was cut down on Sunday and even after four days, neither the police nor the administrative officials have taken any action.
Giving information about the case, complainant Sushil Bhardwaj said that he is a teacher by profession and often contributes to programs that save the environment. He said he had planted about 150 trees in and around the public school and had also planted two neem trees near his house. Which had grown about 35 feet tall. On November 5, his neighbor Dinesh Gupta cut down the tree saying that the leaves of the tree fall in the yard of his house. So the dirt is always spread.
The complainant Sushil said that the said person was also prohibited from cutting the tree, but when he did not agree, instead of fighting, he lodged a complaint with SHO Zirakpur and the executive officer of the Municipal Council. But when no action was taken from there, he complained to ADM Dera Bassi and DC Mohali.
He has also written in his complaint that by not taking action against the person who cut down the tree, there is a danger that other trees will also be cut down. Because they have nurtured this tree with great difficulty. Complainant Sushil Kumar said that it takes a lot of time to plant and maintain trees and it is very important to have trees and plants for the coming generations as well as the current ones. If the trees are cut like this, a big problem will arise in the future.
