The joy of Diwali turned to mourning in Hiranpur village in Ikdil police station area of Etawah when an attempt to reel on the railway track proved fatal for two friends. Anuj Kumar (21 years) and Ranjeet (19 years) from the village, who worked as painters in Ahmedabad, had returned home to celebrate Diwali. After celebrating the party with pomp and show all night, on Friday morning the two friends went out to do a reel on the train track.
Both of them were recording videos on their mobile when suddenly the Humsafar Express train came at high speed and trapped them both. The accident was so terrible that both bodies were destroyed and they died instantly. As soon as the news of the incident broke, residents rushed to the spot and collected the remains of the bodies. After this tragic accident, there was mourning in the town. There was chaos in both families.
Lives are lost when making spools on train tracks
Anuj’s father Dashrat said his son had returned home from Ahmedabad to celebrate Diwali and had left in the morning asking to go to the bathroom. After a while he received this sad news. Ranjit’s father Bhure Singh said he was working in the field and after asking about his son, he learned about the accident. Both families are in bad shape and crying.
Police registered the case and started investigation.
Superintendent of Police Abhay Nath Tripathi said that this incident occurred on the railway track under Ikdil police station area. Railway workers said that when the Champaran Humsafar train passed in the morning, both youths were reeling and were hit by the train. The bodies have been sent for autopsy.
