A person tragically died after being hit by a BMW car in Basti, Uttar Pradesh. This incident occurred near Kartar Talkies in Kotwali police station area. The deceased has been identified as Ramlal Gupta, who was a cook by profession. His wife, Gyanati Devi, has alleged that the young man driving the car deliberately crushed her husband.
The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when Ramlal returned home after cooking and went for a walk after a while. Then local youth Honey alias Azmatullah came onto the street with a BMW car and crushed Ramlal. The family immediately took Ramlal to the district hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The deceased’s wife, Gyanati Devi, alleges that the accused’s father, BJP leader Hamidullah, was also present in the car at the time of the accident. The relatives alleged that both the father and son were influential, which is why the police were not taking strict action against them. Ramlal Gupta has four children, two daughters and two sons, whose upbringing has now become a challenge.
As soon as information about the incident was received, CO Sadar, Satyendra Bhushan Tiwari reached the spot and investigated the matter. He said that based on the complaint filed by the relatives of the deceased, a case has been registered and legal action is being taken in this regard.
Even after this, the family staged a roadside protest with the body after the autopsy. After much effort, he accepted the persuasion of the police and the last rites were performed. The police are currently searching for the accused Honey and his father Hamidullah, who are said to be absconding since the incident. Police say they will be caught soon.
