A case of triple talaq has come to light in Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh. The woman alleges that her husband abandoned her after saying talaq three times over the phone and is now getting married again. The victim lodged a complaint with the police and sought justice from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Iqtesha Siddiqui, a resident of Shakha Baripur village in Kokhraj Police Station area, married Shahbaz Ahmed of the same village on November 15, 2016, according to Muslim customs. Iktesha alleges that after a year of marriage, her husband started torturing her physically and mentally.
Husband gives triple talaq to his wife over phone
The victim Iktesha has two daughters, the first is five years old and the second is one year old. Keeping her daughters’ future in mind, Iktesha continued to tolerate all her husband’s atrocities. Iktesha said that last month her husband beat her and kicked her out of the house.
When she reached her parents’ house with her daughters, after some time, Shahbaz gave her the triple talaq over the phone. Now the woman alleges that her husband is getting married again, which will ruin her life and that of her daughters.
The police registered a case on the victim’s complaint.
The victim has appealed to the Chief Minister to stop Shahbaz’s second marriage and take action against him for the safety of her and her daughters. On this matter, Kaushambi SP Brajesh Kumar Srivastava said that the woman lodged a complaint at Kokhraj police station and the police will take appropriate action after investigating the matter.
