A woman returning from a wedding ceremony was shot dead in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. In this case, police revealed the murder on Wednesday. The reason for Rupwati’s murder was the revenge of Sarthak, a young man who lived in the neighborhood. He held Roopwati responsible for his sister’s suicide and, on the tantrik’s advice, gave him a contract of Rs 40,000 for her murder. The police arrested Sarthak and he also confessed his crime in front of the police. Currently, an accused named Nikhil is still free from police custody.
In fact, on November 16, Roopwati Shreya was shot dead. She was a resident of Sanjay Nagar of Baradari police station area. He used to set up a non-vegetarian food stall near the Sanjay Nagar wedding procession. Accused and mastermind of the murder, Sarthak is also a resident of Sanjay Nagar, while assistant Sagar is a resident of Siklapur and shooter Nikhil Chandra is a resident of Math Chowki.

Pallavi, sister of accused Sarthak, committed suicide in April. Sarthak had blamed Rupwati for this incident as there was a dispute between his family and Rupwati for a long time. Sarthak was convinced that Roopwati was responsible for his sister’s suicide. During this time he came in contact with Jagdish, a tantric from Madhowadi. He claimed that the reason for Pallavi’s death was a woman.

After the incident, the police arrested Sarthak and Sagar with the help of CCTV footage and surveillance. During police interrogation, both also confessed to their crime. Currently, Nikhil is a fugitive and his search continues.
