Activists protest in front of the police station after the attack on Anil Deshmukh.

Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has come under attack. He was heading towards Katol after finishing the election meeting in Narkhed. Meanwhile, his car was stoned near Belphata on the Katol Jalalkheda road. Deshmukh suffered a head injury in this attack. A video of this has also appeared. In this, blood is seen flowing from Deshmukh’s head. He is undergoing treatment at Max Hospital in Nagpur. As soon as information was received about this attack, a large number of his supporters gathered in front of the Katol police station. The workers raised slogans and went on strike in front of the police station. Their demand is that the police arrest the attackers as soon as possible.

Sharad Pawar condemned the attack on Anil Deshmukh. MP Supriya Sule also reacted to this incident. Supriya said that while returning after campaigning, NCP (Sharad Chandra Pawar) leader Anil Deshmukh was attacked by some anti-social elements. This is a very unfortunate and worrying incident. We all condemn this attack.

Law and order situation worsens under BJP government

There has never been such a mentality of attacking during elections in the state. Maharashtra is a democratic state. But under the BJP government, the law and order situation in our state, especially in Nagpur, has deteriorated. The gangsters have free rein. Our demand is that a thorough investigation be carried out into this incident. The person who attacked Deshmukh Saheb and his mastermind must be punished.
