The protest by competitive students in front of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) continues for the fourth day. Meanwhile, BJP MLC Devendra Pratap Singh from Sultanpur has raised serious questions about the government officials. He says some government officials are conspiring against the BJP government and the outcome of this conspiracy could be “tragic” for the government.
Speaking to the media in Sultanpur on Wednesday, MLC Devendra Pratap Singh said, “Some officials are working against the BJP government and the government should understand their conspiracy. Families of 17 lakh candidates may take to the streets against the government. This could be a serious situation for the government.”
I am with the candidates, their demand is justified.
Devendra Pratap Singh supported the demand of PCS (ARO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) candidates. He said that the demand of these students that the exam be taken on a single day and in a single shift is absolutely justified, as has also been done previously. He also questioned the functioning of the Commission and said: “The Commission has resorted to dogmatism and is moving towards dictatorship. Therefore, it is not the officials who are being harmed, but the Government. He said that the candidates must make their legitimate demands for peaceful manner.” It is said that the quiz should be held in one shift in one day, when the same exam was held in the same way last time, then what is the problem.
Reference to the Supreme Court, questions about the conspiracy of officials
In its statement, the MLC also cited the decision of the Supreme Court, which said that once the selection process has started, the terms and conditions cannot be changed. He said: “Last time the exam was held in one day and one shift, what’s the problem now?” Devendra Pratap Singh also said that there should have been 1,758 examination centers for 17 lakh candidates, but the Commission has created only 978 centres. Their argument was that there should be more centers to make the exam transparent and cheat-free. He said: “When there are so many high-tech schools in 75 districts, instead of reducing exam centres, they should be increased.”
The standardization system is the mother of corruption
The BJP MLC further said that the normalization process promotes corruption and this system can be dangerous for the future of students. He demanded that the government increase the number of examination centers and that the examination centers be supervised by the STF, to avoid problems such as photocopying and paper leaks.
The life of the candidates is ascetic.
Devendra Pratap Singh said: “The life of PCS candidates is like that of an ascetic and a monk. They work hard for 5-6 years, only then they become officers. In this struggle, they separate themselves from the society and its relatives”. Encouraging the students, he said that he is completely with them in their peaceful movement and their demands must be addressed. The MLC said it supports the peaceful demands of the PCS and ARO/ARO candidates and its full support is with the students. He said if the government takes action in the interest of students, it will not cause any harm but will ensure transparency and justice.
