After Canada, admission doors are now closed for Indian students in British universities. This has been revealed by a report. The report says that Indian students are prevented from applying to British universities, so the financial conditions of universities have worsened. Let us tell you that this is done at a time when educational institutions are already facing a limited budget. The Office of Student Analysis on Friday released a report showing that the number of Indian students has decreased by 20.4 percent.
Decrease in the number of students.
The number of Indian students here has reduced from 1,39,914 to 1,11,329. Indian student groups in Britain said the decline was expected amid limited job prospects and security concerns following recent anti-immigration riots in some cities. “There have been significant declines in student visa applications from prospective non-British students in some key countries,” says the report from the Office for Students, a non-departmental public body within the UK government’s Department for Education. He further said: “This figure represents an 11.8 per cent decrease in the total number of sponsor approvals granted to international students. The largest decrease has been recorded in the number of CAS awarded to Indian and Nigerian students, respectively: 28,585 (20.4 percent). ) and 25,897 (44.6 percent).”
Universities will also face problems
The report also warns that this decline could have a significant impact on universities with financial models more dependent on students from countries such as India, Nigeria and Bangladesh. “The number of international students sending large numbers of students to study in the UK from some countries has decreased significantly,” he warned. The UK’s Indian National Students Association (INSA) said it was not surprised by the decline in the number of Indian students, given the government’s ban on allowing foreign students to bring their partners and dependent spouses with them.
