In a conversation with Galatta India, Samantha said, “Unfortunately, we live in a completely patriarchal society. Whenever something goes wrong here, the victim has to be a woman. “A woman has to face a lot of criticism and a lot of shame, not only online but also in real life.”

Talking about her life after divorce, she said: “When a woman gets divorced, it carries shame and stigma. I found a lot of labels like “second hand”, “used” and “wasted life”. They back you into a corner where you start to feel like a failure because you were once married and now your marriage is broken. And I think it can be very difficult for the families and the girls who have gone through this.”
Why was the wedding dress redesigned?
Talking about redesigning her wedding dress after her split from Naga Chaitanya, Samantha said: “The reason I redesigned my wedding dress was because initially it was very painful… I decided to turn it around. I decided to own it. I’m separated , I’m divorced. Things didn’t turn out like a fairy tale. But that doesn’t mean I should sit in the corner, cry about it and never find the courage to live again. It wasn’t any kind of revenge or anything like that. It really wasn’t a great gesture. It was this – yes, it has happened. I know it and I can’t hide it. This doesn’t mean my life ends here.
