A factory manufacturing fake medicines has been busted in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. In fact, secret factories were operating in the Shastripuram area where fake medicines for animals were manufactured. These factories operated without a license. Medicines prepared here were sold in many parts of the country. When the drug department and the police conducted a joint raid, the whole story came to light. The team has recovered fake medicines, machines and raw materials worth crores from the site.

Actually, this matter is from Shastripuram area in Agra. There were two factories here that manufactured fake medicines for animals. When information about this was received, joint teams of Agra Police, SOG Surveillance, Nagar Zone and Sikandra Police Station carried out a raid. During this time, factory operators Saurabh Dubey and Ashwani Gupta were arrested, their production manager and other employees were also detained. These factories operated without any license. The fake medicines manufactured in these were supplied in cities like Gujarat, Mumbai, Etah, Kanpur, Aligarh, Jaipur and Punjab.

This rampage of counterfeit medicines was unfolding in a planned manner. The investigation revealed that the raw material used to manufacture fake medicines was procured from Mumbai and Delhi. Factory operators had obtained licenses on loan to manufacture medicines in Roorkee and Kashipur of Uttarakhand, but in Uttar Pradesh, these people were manufacturing medicines without a licence. The work of manufacturing these fake medicines was done in a cunning manner. These factories located in Sikandra area were specially built in places where there is less movement of people. Thanks to this there were no problems in loading and unloading goods.

How did they catch you?

The task force was already monitoring this network. These factories were being tracked for some time. When enough evidence was gathered, the police took action. DCP Suraj Kumar Rai said operators of both factories were welcomed at the spot. He is being interrogated. This entire network is being explored to find out how these people worked. The investigation revealed that these fake medicines were sold in several markets in the country. In addition, samples of medicines recovered from the factory have also been sent for analysis.

What was recovered in the raid?

Huge stocks, machines and raw materials as well as fake medicines were recovered during the raid. The cost of all this is being calculated. The total value of these recovered assets is estimated to be in crores of rupees. The Medicines Department is investigating how long such huge quantities of counterfeit medicines have been manufactured and where they are supplied.

According to DCP Suraj Kumar Rai, a case will be registered at Sikandra police station and strict action will be taken against those involved in this matter. After this matter came to light, the administration intensified surveillance. It is not the first time that the trade in counterfeit medicines has been at this level.

A fake medicine factory has also been detected before

Even before this, a stash of fake medicines was found. The Anti-Narcotics Task Force had exposed a gang supplying fake medicines worth Rs 80 crore in the market. This fake medicine factory was secretly functioning in Mohammadpur area of ​​Agra. Fake medicines for cancer, diabetes, sleeping pills, antibiotics and allergies were manufactured here. The team had recovered medicines worth Rs 8 million from the spot. This factory was run by drug mafia Vijay Goyal. Vijay Goyal was caught in another counterfeit medicines case a few months ago. After being released from prison, he started the business again.
