Voting in the Maharashtra Assembly elections was held in a single phase on November 20 in which the public deposited their favorite party and candidate in the EVM machine. The results will be counted today, that is, on November 23, and will soon be revealed in favor of whoever the public has decided. During the elections, a series of political maneuvers began in the assembly. Here, KC Padvi has quit Congress to try his luck for the fourth time, while Shiv Sena’s Amshya Padvi has entered the fray to challenge him.
Voting was held in all 288 seats of the Maharashtra assembly in a single phase. Akkalkuwa seat was included in the assembly list after 2008 delimitation. KC Padvi of Congress won the assembly seat from 2008 to 2019.
What happened in the 2019 elections?
In the 2019 elections, veteran Congress leader KC Padvi got the opportunity to contest from here for the third consecutive time. Padvi is a down-to-earth leader and has been in politics for the last three decades. In front of him, Shiv Sena (SHS) had given the ticket to Amashya Padvi. There was a close contest between the two, although the victory went to KC Padvi of the Congress. KC Padvi defeated Amashya of Shiv Sena by 2096 votes. KC got 82,770 votes and Amashya got 80,674 votes. The public gave 21,664 votes to the independent candidate who occupies third place.

The Padvi community has considerable influence in this assembly. The Padvi community has 14.3 percent of the votes here. Tribal people have the highest percentage of votes. Here the vote bank of the Vasave community exceeds 23%. The percentage of Muslim votes is very less in this seat. The Muslim vote is only 3.3 percent.
