Ghaziabad: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav has raised questions over the change in the DGP appointment process in Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav said that this passed rule shows that all is not well in Lucknow and Delhi. Is this an attempt to take the reins away from Delhi? Taking aim at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the SP leader said many senior IPS officers are disappointed with this decision of the government.

Government wants to appoint special DGP official

On the issue of giving a two-year term to the DGP, Akhilesh Yadav said preparations are being made to appoint his special officer to the top post. Therefore injustice can be committed. So the law can be broken. Those who do not know for themselves whether they will stay two years or not are imposing a two-year rule.
