Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party has ended its protests. This is what the party has announced. They had taken to the streets of Islamabad and wanted to march to D-Chowk. This protest has continued since November 24. The party has also said that new actions will be announced under the leadership of Imran Khan.

Imran Khan’s supporters reach Red Zone

Imran Khan has been in prison since August last year. His supporters clashed with police on Tuesday after reaching the Red Zone (D-Chowk) in Islamabad, where Parliament, the prime minister’s office and the Supreme Court are located. Clashes occurred when protesters broke barricades and clashed with police, leaving six security personnel dead and dozens injured.

Four paramilitary guards and two police officers were killed and more than 100 security personnel were injured in the clash that took place on Monday night. Following this, Shahbaz Sharif’s government deployed the army in Islamabad and issued orders to fire on the spot.

Imran Khan had called for a protest.

On November 13, Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan had issued a “last call” for nationwide protests on November 24. He called it theft of mandate, unjust arrest of people and approval of the 26th Amendment as a step to strengthen the dictatorial regime.
