Amritsar Crime News (Aaj Samaj), Amritsar: The Amritsar Police Commissionerate foiled the attempt of a criminal expert in attacking NRIs to escape from police custody. Giving information in this regard, DGP Gaurav Yadav said that Punjab Police is not only making efforts to make the state crime free but is also strictly dealing with the captured criminals.
He said that the Amritsar Police Commissioner, acting bravely, foiled the escape attempt of a criminal who was trying to escape by snatching the gun of a policeman. The police injured the accused by shooting him in the leg. After which he was arrested. The arrested thief has been identified as Suraj alias Mandi, a resident of Bhindisaida, Amritsar district.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said the Amritsar Police Commissioner displayed bravery in a professional manner by foiling the escape attempt of the accused. He said that during this action, the police also ensured that no harm was caused to the police officers and pedestrians present at the scene.

Giving information in this regard, Amritsar Commissioner of Police (CP) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that while further investigating these cases related to kidnapping, the team of Amritsar City Civil Lines Police Station located the accused Suraj. and arrested him. He said all the stolen items have been recovered, including £300, €600 and Rs 22,000 in cash, passport, mobile phone, ATM card, Barclays card, Revolt card and Mauritian national identity card.
