What was CM Atishi’s order?
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi had last Sunday issued an order to physically close all classes except classes 10 and 12 due to rising air pollution in the capital. While sharing a post on social media platform Twitter, he wrote that online classes will be held in all schools until further order, but the Supreme Court in its order on Monday said that classes of 10th and 12th should also be closed.
What did the Supreme Court say?
The bench of Justice AS Oka and Justice AG Masih heard the case. Lawyers appearing for the Delhi government told the court that physical classes had been suspended for students of all classes except 10th and 12th. On this, the court said that why this was not done with the students of classes 10 and 12, their lungs are no different from the lungs of other students. After this, the court ordered the closure of all classes.
Noida district magistrate gave these instructions
At the same time, Noida district magistrate and district school inspector have also issued directions to schools in view of the increasing pollution. School managements have been directed to regularly clean and spray water in schools and completely ban outdoor activities in schools until further orders. Along with this, instructions were also given that students who are not feeling healthy should not be forced to come to school in any way, nor should they be considered absent for not attending school. If any school does not follow these orders, action will be taken against them.
