Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray fiercely attacked Eknath Shinde and his Shiv Sena. Uddhav on Saturday said that a real Shiv Sainik of Balasaheb Thackeray never stabs anyone in the back. He urged people not to vote for “traitors.” He was campaigning for Congress candidate Mohammad Arif Naseem Khan in Chandivali constituency in central Mumbai ahead of the November 20 assembly elections, where Shiv Sena-led Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde introduced Dilip Lande.
After the split in Shiv Sena founded by Bal Thackeray in 2022, Uddhav and his party leaders have attacked Shinde and those close to him several times, calling them “traitors”. Thackeray said, “The people of Maharashtra have taken a decision. They will teach the traitors a lesson. A true Shiv Sainik never stabs anyone in the back.”
Earlier, Uddhav Thackeray on Friday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked whether it is the BJP’s culture to campaign for leaders like Abdul Sattar, who made objectionable comments against NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule. Modi had campaigned here on Thursday. Sillod is part of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, from where state minister Sattar is an MLA.
Uddhav accused Sattar of land grabbing, took aim at BJP
Uddhav Thackeray, while canvassing votes for his party’s candidate Suresh Banker against the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, said, “I want to ask the Prime Minister whether the BJP’s culture is to campaign for such people.” I also campaigned for Prajwal Revanna (accused in the rape case) in Karnataka.” Janata Dal (Secular) leader Revanna was arrested on May 31 this year after several people leveled allegations of sexual harassment against him.
Thackeray said people should “unite to remove this stain (satta) from the cell.” Thackeray alleged, “He and his relatives grabbed land in Soygaon and Sillod. They also tried to grab government plots. The election office here is on the land they have illegally. If we are in power, when we come, we will investigate all this. “. Taking aim at the BJP, Thackeray claimed that Muslim women dressed in black were not allowed to attend Modi’s rally in Mumbai. Voting for assembly elections in Maharashtra will take place on November 20, while counting of votes will take place on November 23. (input language)
