The air pollution situation in the capital Delhi has reached a “severe level”. Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) decided to implement Phase 3 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) from tomorrow i.e. November 15. Now it is important to know that after the implementation of GRP-3, on which works there will be restrictions in Delhi and what will be their impact.

It will be implemented in Delhi-NCR.

Under GRAP Phase III, the 11-point action plan will be implemented across the NCR from 08:00 am on November 15, 2024 (tomorrow). According to this…

1) The frequency of mechanized road cleaning will be further increased.

2) Water will be sprayed to suppress dust in busy areas and more care will be taken at landfills.

3) Public transport services will be increased. The frequency of the Delhi Metro will also be increased. The number of ferries will also increase during office hours and on weekdays.

4) Strict measures will be taken at construction and demolition sites. Work that generates dust will be prohibited.
5) The operation of stone crushers will remain closed across the NCR.
6) All mining-related activities will remain closed across Delhi-NCR.
7) Strict restrictions will be imposed on the operation of BS III petrol and BS IV diesel LMVs (four-wheelers) in Delhi-NCR.

8) Rigor will also be imposed on freight vehicles. The operation of essential goods will be allowed.

9-Diesel engine LCVs (goods carriers) of BS-III and below registered outside Delhi will not be allowed to enter Delhi.

10) Interstate buses (except a few) will not be allowed to enter Delhi.

11) Order to move schools to online mode for children through grade 5.

What is grape-3?

The Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) is a set of measures designed to reduce worsening air pollution levels in Delhi and NCR. GRAP Phase 3 is activated when the air quality index (AQI) reaches ‘severe’ levels, imposing restrictions on construction, demolition and public activities to reduce pollution.
