Greater Noida’s Dadri police recovered beef worth Rs 4 crore and arrested five accused. The police took the meat sample and sent it to the Mathura Laboratory and after getting confirmation from there, the police recovered the container full of meat and the meat kept in the warehouse and sealed the warehouse.
In fact, on November 9, a team of cow vigilantes stopped a truck coming from West Bengal at Luharli toll in Dadri police station area and informed the police. Following the information, the police arrived at the scene, opened the truck and found prohibited meat in it. The police called a veterinarian on the spot and after taking the sample of the prohibited meat kept in the truck, he sealed the truck and parked it at Apeejay Cold Store, Dadri.

Following this, on November 10, apart from the truck parked at APJ Cold Store Dadri, samples of banned meat were also taken at SPJ Cold Store Bishara. After this, samples of banned meat taken from trucks and cold storage rooms were sent to the Mathura Laboratory. According to the report received from Mathura Lab, beef was found at both the places.
Banned meat samples sent to Mathura laboratory
Additional DCP Ashok Kumar said that after a container full of banned meat was found at Luharli Toll Plaza, it was parked at APJ Cold Storage located in Dadri. Some banned meat was also found in SPJ’s cold store in Bishara. Samples of both were sent to Mathura Laboratory. According to the report received from Mathura Lab, beef was found at both the places.
Following this, police arrested five accused including the owner, manager and driver of SPJ Cold Storage located in Bishara. The accused have been identified as SPG Cold Storage owner Puran Joshi, Cold Storage operator Mohammad Khurshidun Nabi, Cold Storage manager Akshay Saxena, truck driver Shiv Shankar and operator Sachin.
The value of the seized meat is around Rs 4 million.
ADCP further said that SPJ cold storage is located at Bisahada village in Jarcha police station area. About 153 tons of prohibited packaged meat and 32 tons of prohibited packaged meat preserved in containers were recovered from chamber number 5 of this cold storage warehouse. The value of the seized meat is around Rs 4 million. The police have destroyed the seized meat and necessary legal action is being taken against the accused.
