In the Maharashtra elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party contested on 149 seats, while the Shiv Sena had its candidates contesting on 81 seats and the NCP on 59 seats. At the same time, Congress has contested elections on 101 seats, Shiv Sena (UBT) on 95 and NCP (SP) on 86 seats.
