Big blow for AAP: Kailash Gehlot resigns

4pm News Network: Delhi government’s Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot resigned from his post and membership in the Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday (November 17). He informed his resignation by writing a letter to Aam Aadmi Party coordinator Arvind Kejriwal. He wrote that firstly, I would like to sincerely thank you for giving me the honor of serving and representing the people of Delhi as an MP and Minister. But at the same time I also want to say that today the Aam Aadmi Party is facing serious challenges. The challenges are from within the party, related to the same values for which we came to the Aam Aadmi Party. Political ambitions have eclipsed our commitment to the people, leaving many promises unfulfilled.

Apart from this, in the letter he raised questions about the current disputes in the party and the functioning of the Delhi government. Gehlot further wrote to take only the river Yamuna, which we had promised to make a clean river, but could never complete. Now the Yamuna river is probably more polluted than before.

Furthermore, many embarrassing cases are now coming to light. Strange controversies like ‘Sheeshmahal’, which now make everyone doubt whether we still believe in being a common man? In such a situation, it is now clear that there can be no real progress for Delhi if the Delhi government spends most of its time fighting the Centre. I am left with no option but to part ways with AAP and therefore resign from being a senior member of the Aam Aadmi Party.

important point

  • After Kailash Gehlot’s resignation, there is now speculation whether he will join the BJP now.
  • However, so far no such information has been revealed nor has he himself indicated it.
  • Even in the letter written to Kejriwal, he does not mention this anywhere.
