Mumbai: Ahead of the assembly elections in Maharashtra, the Election Commission took a big decision. The Election Commission has ordered the transfer of the Maharashtra DGP. We inform you that many opposition parties have complained to the Election Commission regarding this matter, following which the Election Commission has given this order. Apart from this, instead of Maharashtra DGP Rashmi Shukla, the chief secretary has now been directed to hand over her charge to the next senior IPS officer in the cadre. We inform you that voting for all seats in Maharashtra will be held in a single phase on November 20. The counting of votes will take place on November 23.
In fact, ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra, the Election Commission on Monday ordered the state government to transfer DGP Rashmi Shukla with immediate effect following complaints from political parties, including the Congress. Apart from this, the Election Commission directed the Chief Secretary of Maharashtra to hand over Rashmi Shukla’s charge to the next senior IPS cadre officer. Sources said the chief secretary was also directed to send a panel of three IPS officers by Tuesday afternoon for appointment to the post of DGP.
