In this regard, the Central Government held a meeting with senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs and security agencies and reviewed the situation in Manipur and also issued instructions to take necessary measures to stop the violence and reduce tension. Let us tell you that in view of the “challenging” security and law and order situation in Manipur, the Center has decided to send 50 additional companies of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) with over 5,000 personnel to the northeastern state. Official sources gave this information today.

50 more CAPF companies to be sent to Manipur

According to sources, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold an important meeting on Monday (November 18) to review the security situation in Manipur. This meeting may be attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka and other senior officials.

Following an order issued on November 12 after the violence that broke out in Jiribam district spread to other places, the Ministry of Home Affairs had sent 20 additional CAPF companies to the state, including 15 from the Central Reserve Police Force ( CRPF) and 15 Border. Security Force (BSF). There are five companies.

CRPF Director General AD Singh and senior officers of other central armed police forces are also present in the state. After last week’s rollout, there are now a total of 218 CAPF companies in the state. Sources claim that a plan is being prepared in consultation with the state government and the Home Ministry to deploy these 50 units in Manipur according to the level of violence reported and the changing law and order situation.
