A meeting of the CPM constituted in the Waqf Board will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, during the winter session. In this meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Minorities will present their case before the committee. During the meeting, committee members can also present their amendments to the bill.
Briefing the meeting, committee chairman Jagdambika Pal said that the draft report of the JPC on this issue is ready and will be presented in the meeting. At the same time, opposition members can demand that the committee’s mandate be extended at the meeting.

The government plans to pass the bill in committee and table it in the Lok Sabha, while opposition members will demand an extension of the deadline. After the victory in the Maharashtra elections, Prime Minister Modi said that the Waqf Board has no place in the Indian Constitution. After this statement by the Prime Minister, it is believed that the government will try to pass this bill in this session.
Madani’s counterattack on the Prime Minister’s statement
Contrary to Prime Minister Modi’s statement, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind National President Maulana Arshad Madani said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that the Waqf Board has no place in the country’s constitution. It doesn’t suit the prime minister. His statements are sowing hatred in the country.
Madani said that Waqf is an important part of Islam and its interference will not be tolerated. Condemning the Waqf Bill, he said Namaz, Haj, Zakat and Roza are not mentioned in the country’s constitution but are important parts of Islam.
What will be Nitish and Naidu’s stand?
If the JPC committee passes the bill tomorrow and the government presents it in the Lok Sabha, then the support of Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu will be needed to pass it. However, both parties, partners in the NDA government, are yet to clarify their stance.
