In Pachira Panchayat area of Raniganj police station of Araria district, a mother sold her one-and-a-half-year-old son after facing problems with group loan repayment. Mo Harun, a resident of ward number 6, and his wife had taken a loan of fifty thousand rupees from the finance company. At the same time, the woman and her family were unable to deposit the loan amount. The financial company’s agents continually pressured the woman to deposit the fee.

Worried about this, the woman decided to sell her one and a half year old son. To get rid of the dues amount, the woman sold her one-and-a-half-year-old son Gurfan for nine thousand rupees.
