‘Central government should make policy to create special places for feeding babies in public places,’ SC ordered – Central government should make policy to create special places for feeding babies in public places Supreme Court NTC

The Supreme Court has asked the Central Government to formulate an appropriate policy on the petition demanding creation of special places for the care and feeding of newborns in public places. In the Supreme Court, Justices BV Nagarathna and N Kotishwar Singh, hearing the PIL filed by NGO ‘Matri Sparsh’, directed the Central government to formulate a policy.

What did the central government say?

During the hearing on this petition, the Central Government said that it takes time to make a policy. That’s why it needs time.
On behalf of the Central Government, ASG Aishwarya Bhati said that currently there is no policy or law in this regard. It will have to be prepared in consultation with all stakeholders and health experts.

The Supreme Court said: politics is necessary

The Supreme Court stated that this requires a competent law. This demand can be satisfied under the Right to Privacy. The Supreme Court has asked the central government to adopt a policy in this regard. The Supreme Court said that Human Rights Day is celebrated on December 10. The court expects the government to adopt an appropriate policy by then. The next hearing on this case will be December 10.
