Chandigarh News, The much-awaited literary festival, Abhivyakti-2024, organized by the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) had a grand opening ceremony on Friday at the Khetrapal Officers’ Mess and Institute, Western Command Headquarters, in Chandimandir Military Station. Noted actor Boman Irani was especially present in this programme, while the formal inauguration was done by lighting the lamp by AWA National President Sunita Dwivedi, AWA Regional President Shuchi Katiyar and Ranjana Malik, wife of the former army chief. , Vice President Malik.
The three-day literary festival ‘Awa Abhivyakti Sahitya Mahotsav, 2024’ will conclude on November 10, 2024 with the participation of a host of eminent personalities (celebrities, writers, storytellers, poets, artists and intellectuals) contributing to this vibrant atmosphere . The event is open to everyone and invites the community to immerse themselves in the world of books and ideas.

Organized on the theme “Exploration, Expression and Experience”, the first day of the festival featured information panels related to the Army’s literary gems. Moderated by Nitya Shukla, panelists Anuja Chauhan, Aditi Mathur Kumar and Meenu Tripathi had a wonderful discussion on ‘Eternal Voices: Celebrating Women Writers and the Contribution of Army Wives’. Amish Tripathi in conversation with Prachi Joshi Johar highlights ‘Mythical Modernity: Reimagining Indian Legends’ and emphasizes the need to strike a balance between different socio-cultural perspectives.
The panelists shared their views on financial issues. In conversation with Colonel Avneesh Sharma, Neelam Kulkarni touched upon the untouched dimensions of Indian civilization and culture while discussing the topic ‘History of Indian Civilization: A Magnificent Mosaic’.
The first day of Abhivyakti-2024 also saw the launch of several books, including ‘Aalekh’ by Meenu Tripathi, ‘Abhaya’ edited by Soni Sangwan, which depicts the lives of 27 Indian women who have brought about a change in their lives, and The ‘Kargil Warrior’ by Shikha Akhilesh Saxena.
