Chandigarh News: Under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan, the police are installing cameras in several places in Derabassi in collaboration with the Municipal Council. These cameras will maintain close surveillance on the population of the Derabassi area 24 hours a day. This will curb crime and criminals will not be able to escape from the police. These views were expressed by DSP Derabassi Bikramjit Singh Brar. As part of this series, cameras were installed today at the city’s busiest Ramlila Maidan, where Derabassi police station chief Mandeep Singh and council staff were also present.
DSP Bikramjit Singh Brar told reporters that DGP Derabassi Police under the leadership of Gaurav Yadav is fulfilling its commitment with complete honesty, dedication and sincerity to provide better policing and a safe and peaceful environment to the residents of Halka. He said that with the activation of these cameras, traffic violators will not be spared in the city. Online challans will be available for those violating traffic rules. In the near future, its control room will be built at the Derabassi police station. DSP Vikram Brar said that on the instructions of SSP Mohali Deepak Pareek, around 80 cameras will be installed at 23 locations at the entry points of Derabassi city and at main road intersections.
In the second phase, cameras will be installed as needed on internal roads, including those leading to the village. In such a situation, monitoring antisocial and mischievous elements and maintaining public safety as a priority, we are working on this project with the help of the Municipal Council and social workers. Currently the places where the cameras are installed have been activated. Shri Brar said that CCTV camera is our companion and it works 24 hours irrespective of rain, sun and wind. Derabassi administrative officials also received great support in acquiring these cameras.
In addition to monitoring government buildings, the safety of the general public will also be taken care of. Surveillance will be carried out using cameras and will be centralized and connected to the control room. Because Haryana is near Derabassi.
