Chandigarh News, Zirakpur: In the name of development, large-scale government is being elected in the Zirakpur Municipal Council. Due to the installation of new tiles in the name of development, the old ones are being destroyed. When we spoke to the officials, instead of taking action, they said they would fine us and let us go. Let us tell you that the Municipal Council has floated a tender worth Rs 23 lakh 90 thousand to install new mosaics in Ward No. 20 of Lohgarh area from Vishwakarma temple to Skynet Enclave society. Due to which old tiles are being torn off and new tiles are being installed. This work is being carried out by a contractor called Chirag.
Whereby, instead of filling the old tiles in a cart and sending them to the Town Hall dumping site, they dump them at two different places in a society called Savitri Enclave located on VIP Road. What is even more surprising is that when we spoke to JE Savneet Singh of the Municipal Council in this regard, he first said that old tiles are being dumped at the Municipal Council dumping ground. But when the video of his tram being taken from Lohgarh to VIP Road was shown, he comfortably said that if it were like that, they would make him pay the fine.
There is no problem in paying the fine after theft, rather strict action should be taken against such corrupt people and their license should be canceled by canceling the tender. When district councilor Tejinder Sidhu was spoken to in this regard, he said we don’t know anything about it, whatever work is being done, it is being done as per the tender allotted by the Municipal Council officials. We just take care of the work. During investigation, it was found that four to five carts had been transported from Lohgarh area to other places. Whose video recording has also been made. Furthermore, locals said that if there is corruption in the work being done in the name of development, then the government and senior officials should take strict action against it.
