Chandigarh. In the Haryana Assembly session on Monday, MLAs raised important issues related to farmers, health, education and regional development in the House. During the session, the ruling party and the opposition held a heated debate on the problems and needs of their respective areas.
Demand for fertilizers for farmers.
Nuh Congress MLA Aftab Ahmed He demanded to provide fertilizers to farmers on time. He said priority should be given to supplying DAP fertilizer for early wheat harvest. He appealed to the government to make fertilizers available first in areas where there are early harvests.
Concern over the increase in dengue cases
INLD MLA Arjun Chautala Questions were raised over the government’s role in the face of rising dengue cases in the state. He said that so far more than 5,000 new cases of dengue have been reported in the state.
health minister Aarti Rao Responding, he said that to prevent dengue, fogging is being done throughout the state and people are being made aware. He reported that 27 dengue testing laboratories operate in the state.
Issue of education and fire services
Jhajjar Congress MLA Geeta Bhukkal He demanded to improve fire services and ensure the appointment of fire officers. He also stressed on construction of a stadium in Jhajjar and reopening of closed schools.
Debate on the Home Office and law and order
Thanesar MLA Ashok Arora He demanded further strengthening of the Department of the Interior. He questioned the government for improving the police system, curbing rising cases of drug abuse and delay in construction of Ayush University in Kurukshetra.
Emphasis on regional development and grants to MLAs
Congress MLA from Firozpur Jhirka mom khan He demanded the opening of the fire department and the agricultural research center. He also called for overcoming the teacher shortage.
INLD MLA Aditya Chautala Demanding to increase the MLA grant, he said this will help speed up regional development works.
The government’s response
The Chief Minister assured the House that appropriate measures would be taken for dengue prevention, farmers’ issues and regional development. He said fogging is being carried out rapidly in all areas and priority will be given to development related works.
