Chandigarh NewsZirakpur: Many builders in the city build illegally, modify their projects violating norms and install tubewells in parking spaces as per their wishes. Only after complaints about these illegally installed wells reached the town hall officials did they remember to take action, but still the work did not stop. Not one but many tubewells are installed at the parking place and new tubewells are continually being installed. Recently, a tube well was being installed in a parking lot just 1 kilometer from the Municipal Council office on Chandigarh Ambala Highway, to which the authorities are giving full time to complete the work and no concrete action is being taken. Two such tubewells are being installed on VIP Road. Municipal council inspector Ashok Kumar stopped work on these two tubewells this afternoon, but work resumed in the evening.
According to the information, the area where these tubewells are being installed on VIP Road is under Building Inspector Shivani Bansal and Building Inspector Shivani Bansal has additional charge of Zirakpur and she comes to Zirakpur only two days in a week and in those two days He has a lot of office work. In such a situation, it seems difficult to stop illegal construction and other illegal works in the area under the supervision of building inspector Shivani Bansal. If we talk about illegal installation of tube wells, inspector Shivani Bansal will come here on Tuesday next week and by then the builders will have completed the work of installing tube wells. Now the question that arises here is whether the council officials do not have enough power to stop the illegal installation of tubal works by the builders or whether the officials can use their power to stop these works. If tubewells continue to be installed indiscriminately in a city with a population of more than 6 lakh, then the problem of drinking water will become the biggest problem for the people in the future.
If the situation continues like this, water shortages may soon occur:
Despite knowing that life is not possible without water, people waste it. Hundreds of wells have been installed without permission, while those for drinking water are drilled by the City Council. People quickly dig holes to build buildings and water is wasted. If we talk about the year 2001, the water level was so high that the water reached a level of 10 to 20 feet during excavation and then the level gradually decreased. In 2005, if you had to do some drilling, you had to go. It was 100 to 200 feet. But after 2010, this depth increased to 300 feet and currently you have to go down between 800 and 1000 feet to drill. If wells continue to be dug this way, one day the water level will drop so low that it will not even be available for drinking. Which will prove to be a curse for generations to come. For which we will all be responsible. If this doesn’t stop here, a big problem will arise soon.
