A terrorist attack took place in Lal Chowk, Srinagar on Sunday. In the attack on the Sunday market, 12 people, including merchants and buyers, were injured. A day earlier, there was an encounter between the army and terrorists in Khayner. Incidents of terrorist attacks and clashes have been increasing rapidly in recent times. The names of many terrorist groups emerged amid the October attacks. Today many small organizations have been formed in Kashmir which are spreading violence in the name of resistance.
What is different now than before?
Their way of working is completely different from the old method of terrorism. Before, the attack pattern used to be different. The report by think tank Observer Research Foundation says terrorists used to come from across the Line of Control and carry out attacks. They usually attacked silently using guerrilla tactics and disappeared into the dense forests of the valley. Many times he used to stay hidden within Jammu and Kashmir and expand his network with the help of local people. Since there is no significant difference in the facial features and language of the people of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and our Kashmir, they were not easy to catch.
The new generation of terrorists is more cruel
Now their place has been taken by hybrid militants. These are random Kashmiri youths, who have no criminal record. They join the resistance group through an online medium. They are trained and the goal is set. With this Reiki is done and after committing the crime at the stipulated time, the terrorists disappear. Since there is no record of them, it is not easy to catch them. These random people return to their towns and cities and go about their normal lives. These are called hybrid militants.
What is happening now?
Many terrorist groups have become active in the valley and no one is seen behind them. That means they were recently formed and call themselves independent. These include TRF, Jammu Kashmir Ghazwani Force, Kashmir Tigers and People’s Antifascist Front. The LFR was born after the elimination of article 370. This organization also began online. According to the Indian Express report, after six months of online-only activity, the organization appeared to be in contact with many other large terrorist groups. By the way, he is a proxy for Jaish-e-Mohammed, that is, he works to cover it.
What is the history of the Resistance Front?
– TRF is active in Jammu and Kashmir. In a way, this is a branch of Lashkar-e-Taiba.
– TRF started as an online unit after removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.
The conspiracy to form this organization was hatched from across the border. Along with Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen, Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI also played a role in the formation of the TRF.
– This was created so that Pakistan’s name does not appear directly in the terrorist attacks taking place in India and is saved from being blacklisted by the Financial Action Task Force.
How does this group work?
Previously, militants, including these groups, used to make a lot of noise about their work. Now they come from common people and after committing incidents they become mainstream again.
Seen from above, they appear as if they were newly formed groups with no prior history. The objective of all this is the same: to create fear and anger in the minds of non-Kashmiris towards the local Kashmiri population. It also keeps Kashmir unstable through terror. Apart from the TRF, the Jammu Kashmir Ghaznavi and People’s Anti-Fascist Front forces are the main ones. The whole world is funded by different global terrorist groups. Like Jammu and Kashmir, the Ghaznavi Force receives funding from Jaish-e-Muhammad. Instead of carrying out direct terrorist attacks, it establishes and instigates the narrative on social platforms. The job of some is only to connect surface workers.
Different use of social networks
Although hybrid militants do not use smartphones, they are definitely active on social media under a different identity. Through them they establish the narrative and promote themselves. They have been fighting a shadow war, in which there was a lot of discussion about a narrative: them against us. People who have fallen under the instigation of extremists should call themselves “AS” and “give in” to the army along with the rest of the country; Those who are supposedly being unfair to them. However, in the latest attacks it is visible that terrorists are laying ambushes and attacking common people, especially non-Kashmiris. This simply means that they are trying to disrupt the government through the people.
A conspiracy is being hatched to create a rift.
Apart from non-residents of Kashmir, attacks on pilgrims also increased. Terrorists selectively attack buses or vehicles of pilgrims. By this, they are not only creating an atmosphere of fear but also trying to refute the Centre’s claim that after the removal of Article 370, tourism has replaced terrorism in Kashmir. This will also give the impression that it is the local Kashmiris who are attacking the outsiders. In a way, this is also like an attempt to destroy harmony.
