When is Chhath Puja? The Chhath Puja fast is considered one of the most difficult fasts. In this fast, women practice fasting without water for 36 hours. This fast is especially observed in North India and Bihar. In this fast, Lord Surya and Chhath Maiya are worshiped. Arghya is offered to the Sun twice during this fast. In which the fast is completed only after offering Arghya to the setting sun and the next day to the rising sun. The Mahavrat of Chhath is especially observed in children. Chhathi Maiya is believed to take pleasure in worship performed with a sincere heart and fulfills all the wishes of those who observe the fast.
Chhath Puja Date (Chhath Puja Date 2024)

The date will end on November 8 at 12:34 p.m. According to Udaya Tithi, the grand festival of Chhath Puja will be celebrated on Thursday, November 7. Actually Chhath Mahavrat starts with Nahay Khay. According to which the first day of Chhath Puja will be Nahay Khay on 5th November 2024, the second day of Chhath Puja will be Kharna on 6th November 2024, the third day of Chhath Puja will be on 7th November 2024 – Sandhya Arghya and the fourth The day of Chhath Puja will be Usha Arghya on November 8, 2024. Chhath Mahavrat Rules (Chhath Puja 2024 Niyam)
- The Chhath Puja festival begins with Nahay-Khay. On this day the house is cleaned and satvika food is prepared at home. Garlic and onion are rarely used at home. Therefore, from the first day of Chhath, stop using tamasic food and onion and garlic at home.
- Chhath Prasad is made on the stove. If it is not possible to prepare Prasad on the stove, you can also make it by washing the stove or gas stove well. Apart from this, Prasad of Chhath is done only by those people who have observed this fast; in such a situation, if you have observed fasting, then you should do Prasad or help in doing Prasad. Also note that cleanliness and purity must be followed while preparing Prasad.
- Do not use utensils in which non-vegetarian food has been prepared or consumed for making Chhath Prasad. Apart from this, glass or non-carbonated utensils should not be used either.
- On the day of Nahay Khay, take bath, wear clean clothes and eat only sattvic food. Women who observe fasting must sleep on the floor. Apart from this, break the Chhath fast only after offering Arghya to the rising sun and use only soup and a basket made of bamboo for Chhath Puja.
