A female intern at SIMS Medical College in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, committed suicide by hanging herself in the hostel. The reasons for the suicide have not been revealed. Measures have been taken after the autopsy of the doctor’s body. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police started investigating the matter.
Actually, Bhanu Priya Singh was an MBBS student of 2018 batch. He passed out in the year 2023 after which he did an internship at the Primary Health Center located at Sukhri in Ambikapur district. Last Saturday he had come to Bilaspur to attend a relative’s wedding. It is said that Dr. Bhanu Priya had come here to the Sims Girls Hostel. During this time, she committed suicide by hanging herself in her friend’s room around 12 noon. The friend was not in the room when the doctor committed suicide. The reasons for the suicide are still unknown.
When the medical students living in the other room of the hostel came to know that Dr Bhanu Priya was hanging, they immediately took her down from the rope and took her to SIMS Hospital for treatment. But by then he had already died. Information about this incident was given to the Dean of SIMS and the rest of the staff. Dean Dr. Murthy has informed the police along with his family members about the incident.
Giving detailed information in this regard, Murthy said that the medical student had come to study in the year 2018. Since then, he was publishing for some time after completing his studies systematically. The MBBS student is originally from Ambikapur and had come here to attend her acquaintance’s wedding programme.
During this time, there is information that she met some of her friends from the girls’ hostel. However, the Dean has also expressed his ignorance about this entire matter and also said that the family of the deceased doctor has been informed about this incident and the body of the deceased has been preserved for autopsy.
