Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde may resign from office tomorrow (Tuesday). However, even after this, he will continue to work as acting CM. The sources gave this information on Monday. Shiv Sena sources said the Chief Minister may tender his resignation to the Governor on Tuesday.

We tell you that the mandate of the current government ends on November 26. In such a situation, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde may tender his resignation to the Governor tomorrow. After that, the Governor will appoint Eknath Shinde as interim Chief Minister until the formation of the new government.

Prayer for Shinde to become Chief Minister again

Many Shiv Sena workers, who wanted to see outgoing Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde once again in the same position, held prayer meetings at temples in Thane. The grand alliance of Shinde’s Shiv Sena, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) won the assembly elections held on November 20.

Fadnavis is leading in the race for Chief Minister’s post

Although the alliance is yet to decide who will be the Chief Minister, current Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is at the forefront of the race for the state’s top post due to the BJP’s victory with 132 seats. In the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly, the Shiv Sena won 57 seats, while Ajit Pawar’s NCP won 41 seats.

Prayer at Siddhi Vinayak Temple

Prayers were offered at the Siddhi Vinayak Temple in the Kashish Park area, in which many women who participated claimed that Mahayuti’s victory was due to the Chief Minister’s connect with the public, his accessibility and the Ladki Bahin Yojana. Shiv Sena officials said puja was also performed at Daulat Nagar in Thane East.

Shinde should get a second term

Lok Sabha MP Naresh Mhaske said all Shiv Sena workers believe that Shinde should be given a second term as Chief Minister. He hoped that the Mahayuti leaders would follow the strategy adopted in other states like Bihar, where leaders have been given opportunities on the basis of merit, irrespective of their previous positions. Thane district is the local constituency of Shinde and had won the Kopri-Pachpakhadi seat in the recently held assembly elections by a margin of over 1.2 lakh votes.
